Can I use this certification from AJ Novick Group, Inc. / ParentInstuctor.com to teach Parenting and Co-Parenting classes?

Yes, you can. You do not have to be a licensed psychotherapist either to get certified. This is a stand alone certification that enables the instructor to teach parenting and co-parenting classes specifically utilizing our model of parenting.

Our curriculum, "Parenting in the Twenty-First Century, 10 Tools for Better Parenting" uses many evidence-based interventions that have been empirically validated.

What makes your organization reputable?

Our model has been tested and utilized for 5 years on thousands of parents. Dr. Ari Novick, co-author of the curriculum, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. In addition to our parent training programs, our company has been providing certification in anger management since 2005 and distance learning education since 2003. Our approach is straightforward, research based, and user friendly.

Will the courts accept this model?

There is no single model of parenting that is the accepted "standard" for state courts in the United States. Parenting program curricula can vary greatly depending on where you live. Our model is quickly becoming more recognized and accepted as a leading intervention for parenting and co-parenting across the nation. To date, no state court has declined a certificate of completion from an organization or parent instructor using our model. Court acceptance is not instant. Most state court require that you apply to be listed or you must apply with your local probation department. In order to do this, you must show training and certification as a parent educator.

Where do most Parenting class referrals come from?

Parenting class referrals come from a variety of sources. Sometimes they come from the court, most most parenting clients are self-referred seeking personal growth. A brief Internet search should yield available training options for those seeking certification as a parent educator or instructor.
